This week I have been watching the devastation happening in the south. Lynn served his mission in Alabama and spent a bit of time in Tuscaloosa. So he especially has watched in horror as that town was so severely destroyed by the tornadoes.
I was thinking about how prepared I am if something like that was to happen here in Montana. We have a bit of food storage but much of what we have has been stored for longer than it's shelf life allows I'm afraid. That's when I really started thinking about Shelf Reliance and how I could use it to help myself and others be prepared in the event of a major disaster. We heard on the news last on our way home from Billings that some 1 million people are without power and won't have it restored to them for WEEKS. There is no phone service or cell phone service in some parts of the area. If they are without power then they are essentially without food unless they have some form of food storage that is usable. And that is why I am writing this post. Shelf Reliance food is usable and it is good. I had the powdered eggs for breakfast this morning. And I mixed up some instant milk. Whatever I put in my home store from Shelf Reliance I can use - as long as I have water stored as well. I won't go without meat, dairy, fruits and vegetables. It may not be in the form that I am used to or would prefer but it is GOOD food and I won't go hungry.
I feel passionate about it. I want my children to have it. I want my siblings to have it - and their children. I want my friends to have it. I don't want us to go hungry if something should happen and we couldn't get to the store or the store was sold out because everyone was scrambling for food.
Part of the reason I feel so passionate about it is because I'm not very good at pushing myself on others. I'm not good at launching a business - I don't have much business sense - but I know how I feel and how my heart would ache if someone I loved was going hungry because they didn't have anything stored for an emergency. (If you could get to Montana I would share what I have with you!)
I came home this morning and ordered a 55 gallon water storage kit. That is the one thing that is really lacking in our storage. And I will start buying water in the gallon containers when I go to the store I think.
Like I said, I don't have much business know how but I have to do something. And because I really like this company and because of the ease of it I am going to host an on-line party. It will be easy for you...let me know if you want to order or even if you think you want to in the future. I will put your email address on the website and then you will be set up and ready to receive the special pricing ~ the BEST pricing because it is through a party and that is the only way to get the best pricing...it is called party pricing :) (DUH) You need to enter through my website then you can order directly or contact me and I will order for you. The food is shipped directly to you! That is the best part. You get it directly so wherever you are in the country you can order through me and get it! One other really cool thing that you can do is sign up for the Q. Now the Q is like an automated shipment. We go in and set you up on a plan to acquire your food storage for a given period of time ~ you decide 3 months, 6 months, a year ~ and a dollar amount...minimum being $57.00. We put in your family...how many, and adult or child, male or female...and then the company plans the needs of your family and then from that they send you the food each month. It is designed for you not to use extra money but to use a portion of the money already allocated for groceries and build your HOME STORE not your storage. Because this is food that you eat as you go! The shelf life is 25-30 years and once opened most of it can be stored for 2 years. Some of it must be used within 6 months (like the powered eggs). Most of the food is freeze dried! I think the best way to do it is on the Q. Then you have the plan and you don't have to think about it again unless you want to change anything that might be shipped to you that month. And that is easy to do!
Not only do they have food but emergency essentials - 72 hour kits - tents, sleeping bags, flashlights, etc. etc.It is a one stop shop really!
Well, enough rambling! I hope you will join me in getting prepared. Please let me know if you have any questions. Or go to the website and look around. There are yummy recipes on there...lots of good information. Click here to go to the price list. Remember you can only get these prices if you come to the party! And they are the best. No coupon needed! And if you decide you want to host your own party let me know. You can get free product!
I will open the party today and then I just might do a new one every month :) We will see. But whether you join my party or do something else...Please don't put off getting started and doing something TODAY!
I love you my friends!
I want to order from your party. I have been thinking a lot about this lately. We have a good base....sort of....but we have so far to go. Thanks for watching out for me :)
